Glorious is Hualälai as it stands forth
Bringing honor to the Kona districts
Behold, the Kohala mountains
They seem to roll from the uplands to the sea

Over there, across the 'Alenuihähä channel
Is Haleakalä of Maui, island of Kamaläläwalu (*my birth place)
*(this sobriquet was used in Beamer family music gatherings to honor Helen's Mom and should not normally be used)
Tell the refrain that it may be heard
