Ps. 4 1
"Lift Up the Light of Your Face" [Kainoa]
from "Hawaiian Psalms
ʻEkahi (Volume I)"
by Robert M. Mondoy [47]
Lift up, lift up the light of your face on us, O Lord.
E Iauē, e huli mai i kou alo
mālamalama
(E ka Haku)
1. When I call on your name, O God of goodness, confident that you heed the
prayer of my soul. My heart sings of your mercy and your justice, you who grant
your love to all who call on you.
Antiphon
2. Those he loves, he grants favors and the choicest blessings upon us, we who
live by his grace. When in trouble I know my loving God will save me from all
harm and lead me into life.
Antiphon
3. There are those who will wonder whether true joy can be found, but I have
been blessed with God's joy. You, O Lord, shall lift up the light of your face
shining on our lives with never ending love.
Antiphon
4. When I lay down to slumber, even then I know I'll sleep at once, so
secure is my lot. You alone make my dwelling place secure and safe at all times;
you, my comfort and my joy.
Antiphon
