Ps. 40 2
"Yes, I Come to Do What Pleases You" [ʻŌmea]
from "Hawaiian Psalms
Kolu (Volume III)"
by Robert M. Mondoy [65]
Yes, I come to do what pleases you, I come to do your will, Lord.
Makemake nō au e hoʻokō
mau i kō ʻiʻini. (PN02)
(kou)
1. I waited and waited for my God. At long last God bent down to hear my
complaint. God taught me a new song, a hymn of praise.
2. Sacrifice and offerings you seek not; what you seek is an open ear and my
heart. So I say to you, now, "Lord, here am I."
3. "I will come to live by your written word." How I want to do all that pleases
you; I delight in your law, God, deep in my heart.
4. I will sing and celebrate your love. I will speak of your justice to us all;
I will not hold back the story of your love.
